Customs & Duties
___________

1      Do I need to pay duties or Taxes?

Maybe. Tax is a very complex issue and varies from one country to another. Some countries are easy to import goods into and have few restrictions and no taxes. Other countries are incredibly restrictive and have high import taxes. Unfortunately, we cannot inform you about the Customs duty rate and whether taxes will be levied or not in advance. As for the products that can be imported by individuals, quantities, amounts, Customs and other related issues, please be sure to check the laws and local Customs policies regarding personal imports.

2      Does Yeajewel's order price include duties or VAT?

The order price of products does not include Customs duties or value-added tax. Only includes product prices, shipping costs and (product processing services) handling costs. If related customs taxes or duties occur, it is common to pay an additional fee to customs by buyer or recipient. Each country/region has its own laws and regulations for Customs policies. You can contact your local Customs policies regarding personal imports.

3      What duties or Taxes do I need to pay?

Many countries charge two kinds of tax when you import from overseas: sales tax (VAT) and import duty. Generally, these two taxes are not very high and the payable amount of tax is based on the declared value of the goods (and occasionally the shipping). Conversely, many countries do not charge any tax on certain types of goods, or on shipments that are small enough.

4      How do I declare the value of your goods?

Declared Value: Packet Value affects Tax
Usually, importing large quantities of goods from overseas is strictly controlled by your country's Customs, but smaller quantities can be imported more easily. The exact definition of “large quantity” and “small quantity”, often defined by a value “threshold”, varies from country to country. Obviously, there would be an advantage to declare the value of the goods lower in such cases. All we usually recommend is to declare at 10%-30% of the value of the goods. This is known as “under-declaring” the goods and is not permitted, despite being a widespread practice. This under-declaring customs value does not reflect the total price you paid or the market value of the product, and may not be applicable to countries with different tariff rules. If you need us to use the real value, or if you have any other requirements, please indicate the information in the "Remarks" when completing the order. Any customization requests in regard to declaration value on the shipping paperwork is fully at your own risk.

5      How do I declare the contents of the goods?

Declared Contents: Packet Contents Affect Tax
The category and type of goods you are importing often has an effect on whether you have to pay tax or how much. Obviously, the importation of certain categories of dangerous or restricted goods is illegal in most countries. Other specific restrictions on certain items (such as spy cameras and jammers) may also apply to your country/region. Please carefully research the relevant information for your local country. The declared contents of a package must be true and accurate for customs purposes. In order to ensure that you pay less or no tax, we will declare them as "gifts" or "samples" of relatively low value. Any customization you request from us regarding the declaration value and information of packet contents is fully at your own risk.

6      Personal Tax ID or Corporate Tax number

When you confirm that the product you are buying is taxable in your country, please fill in your Tax ID or VAT number when making payment. The customs will withhold customs duties based on it, so you are responsible for confirming that it is correct. If you do not have a Tax ID or VAT number, please fill in your ID number or Passport Number. In most countries, this has the same effect as a Tax ID.

7      How to pay customs duties?

When the package arrives at your country, the local customs or logistics company will notify you by phone or email to pay customs duties. The notification will state the exact amount of customs duties. Please complete the payment according to the notification you received. After payment, the logistics company will continue to deliver the package to you.
If you cannot solve this problem by yourself, we can help you solve it with charges. If you need any help, please contact our customer service.

8      Package delivery time

You need to pay customs duties within 7 days of receiving the notification. The time waiting for you to pay customs duties will not be included in the order delivery time. If you fail to pay customs duties on time, it will be deemed to have refused to pay customs duties by the local customs.

9      What is an IOSS number?

The Import One-Stop-Shop (IOSS) is the electronic portal businesses can use from 1 July 2021 to facilitate VAT e-commerce transactions when shipping internationally. The IOSS VAT identification number consists of 12 alphanumeric characters.

10      What is Declared Value and VAT?

Declared value is the amount a shipper stated to the carrier that his shipment is worth. The value of the goods is declared for clearance at the port of entry. In case of any loss or damage to the shipment during transport, the carrier is liable to compensate the shipper on the basis of the declared value. When importing goods, you need to declare the price of the goods to the customs, determine the taxation/exemption and tax rate in the customs, and pay the necessary taxes and fees such as customs duties to obtain an import license. *There is a “Goods value declared to customs” in “Customs Invoice & Comments” on the Check-Out page which is automatically input by our system. If there is no particular request, you can proceed with your order as it is. *If you are familiar to Customs Clearance, You can also decide your own amount to declare. In the case of a low-cost customs declaration, the package may be returned or can not be properly delivered due to unsuccessful customs clearance. The loss is borne by the customer. If you have any questions, please bring your order number before payment and contact customer service for consultation.

11    What is a Customs duty?

Customs Duty is a tariff or tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders. The purpose of Customs Duty is to protect each country's economy, residents, jobs, environment, etc., by controlling the flow of goods, especially restrictive and prohibited goods, into and out of the country. Dutiable refers to articles on which Customs Duty may have to be paid. Each article has a specific duty rate, which is determined by a number of factors, including where you acquired the article, where it was made, and what it is made of. Please note that if Customs duty (including consumption tax, replacement fee, etc.) is charged, the purchaser who is the recipient will be responsible for it.

12     What is VAT?

A value-added tax (VAT) is a consumption tax placed on a product whenever value is added at each stage of the supply chain, from production to the point of sale. A VAT number, when used in the EU, means a VAT payer number that a company has registered with a government agency. To obtain a VAT number, VAT registration is required for each country/region. *There is a “VAT Code” in “Customs Invoice & Comments” on the Check-Out page, but individuals do not need to enter a value-added tax (VAT) number.
